Certified Peer Recovery Specialists are “individuals with personal, lived experience in their own recovery from addiction, mental illness, co-occurring disorders and family/allies of behavioral health” (MD Addiction & Behavioral Health Professionals Certification Board). Peers work one on one and with families to meet a wide variety of case management needs, offering and providing referrals as deemed appropriate in order to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
